I've only written in
Finnish to this blog but now that the exchange is coming to its end
and we are all going to leave Adelaide behind I wanted to dedicate
this post for you who made this exchange so special. I know that
sometimes the words might sound too lame but I hope you'll get the
point. :)
”It well may be, That we will never meet again, In this
lifetime, So let me say before we part, So much of me, Is made from
what I learned from you, You'll be with me, Like a handprint on my
heart, And now whatever way our stories end, I know you have
re-written mine, By being my friend"
- For Good, Wicked
(Musical)
The lyrics from one of
the greatest songs of all time pretty much says everything I would
like to say to you, lovely people! It has only been five months but we've
had such a good spirit and fun all the time – even though we've
been studying effectively (or not..). I wanted to thank you all for
this amazing semester which has been filled with joy and laughter,
definitely one of the best experiences in my life. I feel like
reborn, like I would have come into life again. Not all of my years
have been that happy but now I feel I've changed and I'm definitely
ready to face whatever the life may throw at me. The wonderful
memories linger on and I will cherish them. :)
I've done things I
thought I would never do in my life, for example the crazy dance we
organised with one of the craziest girl on Earth, Candice. Keep up
the spirit you have, it's inspirational and keep entertaining people! :) I'd like to thank
Katariina who has been like a big sister for me – especially in the
beginning when I was a bit lost to tell the truth she was the one who
always organised and took care of things and I'm really grateful for
that. But I think you all knew that she is pretty good at it! And it
was nice to speak Finnish every now and then when my head was so
mixed with languages I cannot understand (read: French).
I'd like to thank Estelle
for the deepest conversations we had, you are a very special girl
which I hope you know! And Mickael, take care of her. :) And btw,
thank you for shopping and 700 grams of chocolate! ;) I will
definitely come to see you guys. In fact, I think I gotta organise a
roadtrip in France so that I can meet Aude and Roxana too. Candice
already promised to drive me around! It's a deal. Haha, Roxana is
going to miss the egg-thing anyways so I cannot let her down. ;) And
I want to see the Eiffel Tower from your window!
I'd like to thank Christina,
you are such a funny girl and you always made me laugh! It's a
special gift to make people smile even during the bad days. :) I will
definitely come to meet you, see the mountains and simply have fun.
You can teach me all about the rocks then because I used to be a huge
fan of rocks and as a child I always carried rocks in my pockets and
planned becoming a jewellery maker. :D And yes, I won't forget to
inform you if I ever get married.. ;)
I want to thank Joyce
who's the joy herself. It's unbelievable how you can make the whole
room shine with your presence! Love and hate go hand in hand and I'll
never forget the way you said ”I hate you” and started laughing,
priceless. Come to Finland to see some snow and stars, I'll come to
Maleysia and have a vacation.. well, when you've finished with your
studies in Adelaide, Germany or wherever. :) I still cannot believe
how someone can be such a language genious!
Muchisimas gracias Ana
paparazzi for the dance lessons, someday I will find my hips! You're
such a caring person and you have that special gift to see through
people and it's impossible to try to fool you. Keep it always that
way :) And always stay true to your heart and neverever try to be
German (well, if eight years haven't changed you into German nothing
will, jaja :D) Jaja, despues voy a recordar tu risa y tus besitos..
Hopefully my friends won't think I'm too weird because I think I
cannot get rid of that habbit anymore :D Not only thanks to you but
all South Europeans. I have to start a new trend in Finland I
reckon.. And I'd really like to visit South America soon so I'll ask
some recommendations where to go. :)
Muchisimas gracias
Cristina, I will keep practising Spanish with you! It was always a
great fun to fool you around and get a good laugh. :D And seriously
if the Finnish summer is not getting any better I'll arrange a flight
to Barca. :P
And thank you lovely
neighbours, i.e. all the Swedes: Maria, Henrik den första, andra o
tredje, Peter, Nico, Jonas, Camilla, Emelie, Louise.. for keeping the
Scandinavian traditions such as Valborg and Midsummer. And yes, I'll
remember the Monday pizza nights and our crazy hiking trip (that most
of you were a part) in the hottest time of the year. But hey, that's
Scandinavian thing to be a bit crazy, right?
Thanks for movie nights
with Peter, Chris and Katariina. Even though our tastes were worlds
apart we still always came up with a solution! :D Chris, I'll come
to visit you too. One cannot never get enough of seeing mountains nor
eating excellent chocolate! Yes, I'm a hopeless chocoholic..
I'd also like to thank my
wonderful roomie Yuki for teaching me how to make sushi and keeping
me sane. :) When you come to Finland you can be sure I'll make you
the best Finnish dishes I can think of :)
..and all the others
Celine, Cherry, Tanya, Christina E, Fabian, John, Carlota, Megan,
Laura, Alisha, Ehsan, the one who doesn't want to be mentioned
anywhere (I guess you all know who I'm talking about) and everyone
else I forgot to mention, you guys are awesome!
I don't like goodbyes and
that is why I won't say goodbye but see you soon! I haven't been
travelling a lot but believe me, once the spark has been lit, it will
keep becoming bigger and even though I'm not even in Finland yet I am
craving for new adventures. As soon as I have money I'll start
visiting each and everyone – two birds with one stone! :) November
isn't the nicest month in Finland so I think I have to arrange
something. Who wants to be the lucky number one?
Wish you guys all the
best in your life, you deserve the world! You will have a special
place in my heart. :)

closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully
